sermonette: Sodom and Egypt

The Culture of Israel
John W. Ritenbaugh
Given 03-May-03; Sermon #610s; 20 minutes

Description: (hide)

John Ritenbaugh, referring to Revelation 11:8, focuses upon the meaning of "Sodom and Egypt," a term that identifies Jerusalem, but metonymically stands for all the inhabitants of modern Israel, including the United States, Canada, and England. This term carries both the connotation of vileness and slavery. The American pornography industry leads the world in exporting smut and filth. The profits from illegal drugs outstrip those from legitimate cash crops. Illegal aliens are hired by 'respectable' businesses, ignoring existing laws. The morals of much of America and the rest of modern Israel have become morally putrid and rotten, identifying our peoples as Sodom and Egypt.
