sermonette: Our Tool of Power

The Power of the Tongue
Mark S. Baker
Given 06-Sep-03; Sermon #629s; 13 minutes

Description: (hide)

Mark Baker, reflecting upon the damage inflicted by the tongue (James 3:1-10), marveled that an organ created for so much good could produce so much psychological damage and heartache. As an antidote to abusing this organ, we need to: (1) Treat others the way we would want to be treated, (2) Treat people as unique individuals, (3) Do not judge or condemn others, and (4) Pray for our enemies. Encouraging words heal; discouraging words destroy.
