sermonette: The Beast's Militarism
A Lover Of War
Richard T. Ritenbaugh
Given 22-May-04; Sermon #667s; 15 minutes
Description: (hide)
Richard Ritenbaugh, focusing upon Paul Johnson's biography of Napoleon, observes that although Bonaparte was a brilliant military tactician, he failed as a statesman. All of the types of the End time (Revelation 13) Beast (Alexander the Great, Antiochus Epiphanes, Charlemagne, Otto the Great, Justinian, Julius Caesar, etc.) have been formidable military leaders bent on conquering and exercising military power, dominating and subduing every challenging power. Whoever emerges as the Beast of Revelation 13 will no doubt display these brazen, rash, militaristic characteristics. Fortunately, the Beast will be no match for the power of Jesus Christ- the Prince of Princes.
