sermonette: Is God's Mercy Conditional?

Our Responsibility in God's Loving Kindness
Bill Onisick
Given 04-Sep-04; Sermon #683s; 11 minutes

Description: (hide)

Bill Onisick, focusing upon the term Chesed ( Loving- Kindness) in David's prayer of repentance in Psalm 51, suggests that the original Hebrew term refers to a combination of strong, steadfast love to God's covenanted and chosen people. God's loving-kindness is not unconditional, but will be removed from those who refuse to abide by His covenant. We need to continually fear and obey God, realizing that God's Loving- kindness is contingent upon obedience.
