telecast: Another Gospel
Matthew 24: 4-5, 11-14, Revelation 2-3, 12:9
Herbert W. Armstrong (1892-1986)
Given 01-Jan-34; Sermon #HA210B; 30 minutes
Description: (hide)
Herbert W. Armstrong reveals that during the 'lost century' (50-150AD) the true Gospel proclaimed by Christ and practiced by the apostolic church was, in effect, hi-jacked while a false church substituted a gospel 'about Christ'- a gospel distorting or obscuring Christ's actual gospel. The true church largely disappeared from world view, but the apostle John (through the inspiration of Christ) gives an outline history of seven successive eras of this scattered, often persecuted, and relatively obscure church, identifying strengths and weaknesses of each era right up to the time of Christ's second coming. This program fills in some of the historical details. The booklet What is the True Gospel? was offered on this program.
