sermonette: Offertory: If You Do Well
Righteous Character and Acceptable Offerings
Martin G. Collins
Given 30-Apr-05; Sermon #717As; 14 minutes
Description: (hide)
Martin Collins, focusing upon Malachi 3:6-10, cautions that this entire land, and even some within earshot of his voice have been guilty of robbing God, placing themselves under a curse in the manner of Cain, who offered a defiled, blemished sacrifice. If material possessions are more important than our relationship with God, we will find no satisfaction in the things we possess, but actually will be led into sin by our lusts and desires. In this season of Unleavened Bread, in this time of purging out sin, we need to bring an offering with a pure and undefiled heart. Both tithing and offerings are test commands, with the difference that the amount of the offering is left up to us, placing an additional test upon our sincerity generosity, and intent to serve, obey, and please God.
