sermonette: What Will You Do?
Doing Nothing
Martin G. Collins
Given 04-Oct-05; Sermon #741As; 14 minutes
Description: (hide)
In this offertory message, Martin Collins suggests that the biggest recriminations are leveled against inaction. The hopelessly biased media blame all governmental leaders for their supposed inactivity. Nature abhors a vacuum. Many proverbs castigate the fruits of indolence and inactivity. The parable of the man who wanted to increase his wealth only to finish his life doing nothing is a fool. Zephaniah castigates the people for their complacency. We have to guard against the same complacency, putting our activities and energies into something permanent- such as God’s eternal plan for us.
