Given 25-Feb-06; Sermon #761s; 15 minutes

Description: (hide)

Bill Onisick, focusing upon the example of Nehemiah, cupbearer to Medo- Persian King Artaxerxes I, after the end of the Babylonian captivity, illustrates four characteristics of Godly leadership: (1) A Godly leader is motivated by compassion and love, as demonstrated by Nehemiah’s tearfully seeking the assistance from King Artaxerxes to allow him to return to Jerusalem to rebuild the walls. (2) A Godly leader earnestly seeks God’s will through prayer and fasting, evaluating the situation, and developing a plan that aligns with God’s will. (3) A Godly leader is first and foremost a servant, in humility seeking voluntary commitment from his followers, and (4) A Godly leader maintains perseverance, determination, motivation, and unwavering focus on God’s will.
