sermonette: Put On Jesus Christ
Walking Circumspectly In Our Christian Life
Ted E. Bowling
Given 22-Apr-06; Sermon #771s; 14 minutes
Description: (hide)
Ted Bowling, focusing upon Romans 13:12-14, admonishes us that we need to learn to walk circumspectly and attentively in our daily lives, becoming alert, aware of the evil around us, and attentive about our behaviors. To ensure that we accomplish these objectives, we must put on Christ’s character as well as the full battledress described in Ephesians 6:11-17. We desperately need to put on Christ’s character to protect ourselves against malicious spiritual principalities, including Satan, the lures of the world, and our own flesh, maintaining regular prayer and Bible study in our daily stock of provisions. Just as we walk circumspectly in the grocery stores, meticulously reading the labels, we must exercise the same precautions in all our behaviors, maintaining God continually in our thoughts.
