sermonette: In Which Circle Are You?

Striving For The Innermost Circle Of The Firstfruits
Martin G. Collins
Given 04-Jun-06; Sermon #778Bs; 16 minutes

Description: (hide)

Martin Collins warns us that the farther out we go from the concentric inner circle of God the Father and Jesus Christ, the harder it is to keep the light, guidance and influence for overcoming before us. As the parable of the sower suggests, whatever captures our attention will determine what we will give our lives for. The farther we live from the first two circles (God the Father and Jesus Christ), the harder it will be to receive the guidance and inspiration we desperately need to overcome and produce godly fruit. In order to magnify the source of this light, God provided the power of the Holy Spirit. The receiving of God’s Holy Spirit makes it possible to lose self, loving God with all our being and loving our neighbor as ourselves. Through God’s Holy Spirit we rid our inner beings of narcissism or self-love and replace it with the Love of Christ. Only through God’s Holy Spirit can we make our way back to the inner circle, knowing the love of Christ which passes all knowledge.
