Mike Ford, reflecting upon a recent trip he had taken to the Port of Los Angeles, marvels at the provisions God made for Noah and his family. Noah consistently and habitually walked with God, becoming the last bastion of God’s truth. We could infer from the phrase “as in the days of Noah” that the technology had reached the same level as it has today, with perhaps 11 billion people inhabiting the earth. God gave explicit instructions on waterproofing, seaworthiness, dimensions, and durability, demonstrating God’s providence. The number of animals could have been accommodated by one deck if the animals had been young and/or in a state of sedation and if each species had been limited to one genus. Though God’s church has always been small in number, it, too, has always been provided for.
