Martin Collins, focusing on the sacrifice and faith of Abel, claims that there are two distinct ways of bringing an offering before God. Abel brought what God had requested and did it with a right attitude, while Cain did not bring what God requested and did it with a wrong attitude. Cain’s offering derived from the accursed ground, while Abel followed God’s instruction. Abel gave his offering with a faithful and undefiled heart while Cain’s heart was resentful and bitter. Cain, unfortunately, remained attached to the world, while Abel strove to please God with his faith and belief.
