sermonette: Addiction,Slavery and Serving

Differences and Simalarities
John W. Ritenbaugh
Given 12-May-07; Sermon #828s; 19 minutes

Description: (hide)

John Ritenbaugh graphically describes how a person incrementally moves from a state of reluctantly committing sin to becoming an abject bond-slave of sin, absolutely addicted to its incessant demands. One eventually becomes completely under domination of sin. In contrast, Paul places himself under Christ's authority, making himself the bond-slave of Christ. As God calls people to service in the church, He demands that they not be addicted (enslaved) to alcohol or any other lust, but have their desires under control.
