Herbert W. Armstrong debunks the popular notion that the Old Covenant, consisting of ?harsh laws?, was made only with the Jews while the New Covenant, consisting of ?grace,? was made with the Gentiles. Both the Old and new covenants were marriage covenants made between Almighty God and the people of Israel. The Old Covenant consisted of physical promises and blessings while the New Covenant consists of spiritual promises and blessings, including eternal life as a member of God?s very family. God?s Spiritual and Holy Law (not done away as some Protestant theologians have assumed) will be placed deeply and permanently within the inward parts (the hearts) of the recipients of this covenant, safeguarding against spiritual defilement.
