Maintaining Physical and Spiritual Fitness
Bill Onisick
Given 15-Nov-08; Sermon #910s; 17 minutes
Description: (hide)
Bill Onisick, cuing in on the example of Joshua's and the men of Gibeon"s extraordinary fitness, asks whether we are in the proper state of fitness for the challenges ahead of us. In our sedentary lifestyle, we are putting ourselves in mortal jeopardy. Exercise guards against obesity, heart disease, and diabetes, while boosting our immune system and our moods. We need both aerobic and anaerobic activity to keep us fit, expending at least 30 minutes a day, five days a week. It should be placed higher on our priorities, perhaps combining spiritual and physical exercise. The Bible recognizes the importance of both spiritual and physical exercise. We are to be good stewards of our body, the temple of God's Holy Spirit.
