commentary: Spirit As A Biblical Term
The Basic Nature of Spirit
John W. Ritenbaugh
Given 25-Jul-09; Sermon #949c; 9 minutes
Description: (hide)
John Ritenbaugh, suggesting that our understanding of spirit is sometimes vague, affirmed that President Obama's rash charge of racial profiling against the Cambridge professor provided an example of spirit as attitude and conduct. Professor Gates displayed a spirit of anger and hatred, cultivated by years of bitterness toward a different race. Such an attitute of anger forces one to be unbalanced and subject to Satan's influence. Spirit (whether negative or positive) refers to power.
