Richard Ritenbaugh, commenting on the Beer Summit, mentioned that Sergeant Crowley graciously escorted the handicapped Professor Gates, his former accuser, down the steps while President Obama shows no concern except for his beer. Sergeant Crowley reveals himself as a thoughtful public servant, while President Obama displays himself as self-absorbed, self-serving, arrogant 'progressive.' Thomas Lifson, in an American Thinker article, suggested that this photograph is a metaphor of Obamacare-showing arrogance and pride in our government leaders, as well as helplessness and anguish in the people it should supposedly help.
