John Ritenbaugh, reflecting upon the novel and movie The Perfect Storm, suggests that the election of Barack Obama (a man who never had a job in the private sector, who was a community organizer for Acorn, and who is a product of the welfare state) became the tipping point, turning our country to a virulent form of socialism by destroying the economy, and redistributing the wealth from the productive to the indolent. Obama's immense borrowing to bring down the national debt, in addition to the ill-conceived cap and trade bill (a tax increase on the sly), driving up the cost of energy, the ill-conceived stimulus bill (pure pork for the radical groups who supported Obama), and the health care debacle are all crafted to destroy the economy by 'taxing the rich out of existence" establishing a disastrous collectivist socialism. This massive disaster will certainly drive us under. No superlatives can adequately describe the disgusting state of affairs ahead of us-the perfect storm.
