sermonette: God, Our Arms Supplier
Help for Our Spiritual War
Richard T. Ritenbaugh
Given 28-Sep-09; Sermon #959s; 18 minutes
Description: (hide)
Richard Ritenbaugh, acknowledging that we are a world perpetually at war, as recorded by Will Durant, suggests that there are approximately fifteen armed conflicts around the world. Just the world's nuclear stockpile assures us of MAD (mutually assured destruction). In 2006, $1.8 trillion dollars was spent on conventional weapons. The United States is both the largest buyer and supplier of arms. In God's spiritual army, we also are dependent upon our own arms supplier-God Almighty. We have the influences of Satan, our own carnal mind, and the world to contend with. The battle takes place invisibly in our mind. If our mind is under control, our body is under control. God gives us His armor to fight the battle. This Day of Atonement pictures the conflict in which we are engaged, a time when the Azazel goat, symbolizing Satan the Devil, will be taken out of our way for us.
