commentary: Humanism's Flooding Influence (Part 2)

Humanism is Carnality
John W. Ritenbaugh
Given 26-Dec-09; Sermon #970c; 9 minutes

Description: (hide)

John Ritenbaugh, continuing his appraisal of humanism as an alternative to religion, suggests that humanism pervades the entire spectrum of the arts and the sciences, as well as theology. Because this world's educational system is so immersed in humanism, people are unaware of the depths of their entrapment, and that they are carnal and "unconverted as jackrabbits," walking in the flesh, having a totally inferior set of standards. The Pharisees, Sadducees, Essenes, and Herodians were all humanists, at odds with God and also at odds with each other. Like the world in Jesus' time, the world's religions today are steeped in rank humanism, leaving the church of God standing virtually alone defending God's truth in a world immersed in falsehood.
