The United States Congress is a more despicable organization than either the NBA or the NFL when measured in terms of spousal abuse, fraud, bad checks, bankrupting businesses, bad credit, and drunk driving. The majority of our congressional leaders (as well as their constituency) do not know God. We are a people laden with iniquity, depressed and stressed, burdened with the crushing weight of sin. The leadership of the people constitutes a mirror image of us. As Pogo (the comic strip possum) has eloquently stated, "We have seen the enemy, and the enemy is us." We have a whole nation of corrupters, breaking down the walls of morality.
