The early church devoted themselves to fellowship in a much richer context than what we do today. The connotations of the Greek words indicate sharing, something in common in the fellowship of Christ. We are called into a relationship to God by means of Jesus Christ. The focus is not on activities, but on the relationship or partnership with Christ with the common objective of glorifying God. If we have a good relationship with our partners, we are going to want to work together to attain a common goal or objective. Fellowship, in essence, is just as important as Bible Study and prayer. Pentecost stresses this relationship.
