Abraham Lincoln's "House Divided" speech was deemed radical when he gave it. Though Lincoln never intended the union to dissolve, he fully expected the possibility of armed conflict. Intra-psychic struggles (conflicts within the human mind) are just as precarious and deadly. Evil and good, sin and righteousness cannot co-exist. Every entity divided against itself cannot endure long. A double minded man cannot long tolerate his cognitive dissonance. If we remain in the non-committal gray area, we will soon self-destruct. If we are fully loyal, we will stay committed.
