John Reid, reflecting on the derelict shadow population of the LA warehouse district, observes that amidst abundant wealth, pockets of poverty also co-exist. As modern Israel, we still suffer the consequences of ancient Israel's request to have a king like every other nation, and to adopt political and economic systems like every other nation (I Samuel 8:7). America, because of this fateful decision, is now the biggest debtor nation in the world. We have reaped the curses described in Deuteronomy 28:15. This terrible calamity will only be solved when: (1) God establishes His government on this earth. (2) God educates people how to use prosperity. (3) God provides arable land. (4) God provides meaningful employment for all. (5) God makes the New Jerusalem the financial capitol of the world. (6) God establishes the tithing system as the only tax, eliminating usury and perma-debt.
