sermonette: In the Last Days
2 Timothy 3:1-4
Mike Ford
Given 17-Dec-11; Sermon #1079s; 18 minutes
Description: (hide)
Mike Ford, focusing on the apostle Paul’s predictions about the last days in II Timothy 3:1-4, observes that these characteristics apply to the riots in England, riots in Greece, and the current Occupy Movement inhabited by hygienically challenged, irresponsible youths and winos upset about their entitlement packages. Two generations of pampering youths and raising self-esteem have produced a crop of full-fledged spoiled brats, demanding their quotas of smart phones and big screen televisions. The British approach to crime protects the safety needs of burglars and felons while severely punishing with prison time those who would defend their property. The entitlement mentality that has damaged Europe is poised to destroy America’s culture as well, reaping the cursings forecast in Deuteronomy 28. The times we live in are dangerous, with narcissism and self-centeredness driving most public policy. Instead of a simple 10% taxation for all, the welfare state has mandated that 5% of the population pay 50% of the taxes and 47% pay nothing. Prophecy is unfolding in front of our very eyes, with the demise of our country closer than ever before.
