Unlike the character of Eeyore, the depressed, burden-carrying animal in the Winnie the Pooh stories, we must not become depressed by Satan's continual barrage of depression. Satan hates the fact that God's called-out ones will one day eclipse him and his abilities. We are to be balanced in our mind, realizing our awesome purpose of being offspring of Almighty God. We must know our enemy, realizing he is trying to subvert us with defeatist feelings and depression. We need to run to God, getting on our knees, asking for His help in overcoming these overwhelming thoughts of depression. If we draw close to God, God will draw close to us. We need to remember that we are not alone; our brothers and sisters in Christ suffer the same trials, just as our forefathers in the faith have battled and overcome Satan's impression of depression.
