commentary: Why Liberals Hate American Exceptionalism (Part 2)

John W. Ritenbaugh
Given 15-Sep-12; Sermon #1120c; 11 minutes

Description: (hide)

John Ritenbaugh, reiterating that the current governmental administration is dominated by secular progressives, suggests that the downfall of American morality originated after World War I, when the doughboys returned from Europe with a more 'enlightened view' of behavior. This downward spiral continued during the Second World War. Secularism commenced in the United States and Europe with the Age of Reason and the Age of Enlightenment, a period when science challenged religion, led by Voltaire, Rousseau, and Kant, replacing faith with reason, establishing the foundation for anti-religious secularism.
