The Democrat party's voice vote rejected any mention of God at their political convention. The party may be returning to their roots, embracing the mindset of some of the founding fathers, including Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin, who were practicing Deists, rejecting any revelatory aspect of Scripture. The Age of Reason and the Age of Enlightenment, the real underpinnings of Humanism, had little time for a God who actually cared about or intervened in His Creation.
