The morals, economic security, and political stability of the nation are all rapidly eroding, destroying our civilization, replacing a relatively moral culture with one resembling Sodom and Gomorrah. We need to be careful not to emulate Lot's desire to stay close or be cozy with the corrupt culture within which he lived. When he allowed himself to compromise with the milieu around him, he also put his family into even greater danger. We have to remember that change is inevitable. Since change is inevitable, we must strive for a closer relationship with God, inoculating us against the evil influences of society around us. In the midst of the horrific changes soon to engulf us, nothing is more deadly than to maintain the status quo as had Lot and his extended family.
