Not all flesh is the same, nor is all spirit the same either. God's Holy Spirit is the only variety of Spirit guaranteed eternal life; the other forms of spirit, including angelic beings like Satan the devil, are subject to extinction. God did not make a colossal mistake by creating a being He could not destroy. The "wages of sin is death" constitutes a universal law, applying just as much to angels as to human beings. If sin were allowed anywhere in the New Heaven and the New Earth, in any form, that new creation would not be of the purity that God has promised in His Word. In the several encounters Jesus has with demons, they expressed fear of impending torture or death. Ezekiel 28 reveals that Satan's fate will be ashes in the Lake of Fire; it would be inconsistent with God's compassionate character for Him to inflict pain on a being eternally. God's called-out ones have received an earnest payment of God's Holy Spirit, which carries immortality and abundant life. We are being formed into new creatures, not just spiritual retreads on our carnal nature, equipped and designed to live in the Heavenly Jerusalem of the New Heavens and New Earth, the very offspring of Almighty God.

transcript:

This message I am going to give here is part two of a sermon that I began on the Day of Atonement. The reason I gave the first part on Atonement was because of the ceremonial aspects of that day, given in Leviticus 16, in that chapter the Worldwide Church of God taught that the Azazel goat represented Satan the Devil. But we have had revealed convincing truths that this cannot be so. The same truth is also showing it is going to bring Jesus Christ more glory as a result of this understanding.

This sermon is going to cover some steps that I was unable to fill there on the day of Atonement. I feel somewhat badly because some of you did not hear the first sermon, which gives a great deal of groundwork that had to be covered in order to reach this conclusion that I am giving to you.

You will recall that the Azazel goat had hands laid on its head by the high priest, and thus the sins of Israel were ceremonially transferred to it. The thought being that the second goat represented Satan, that he is the primary cause of the sins of mankind. However, one piece of truth that hinders that thought right at the very beginning is God did not accept the justifications of Adam and Eve; they were responsible for the sins that they committed. Satan indeed was part of it in that he led her to that, but learn this brethren: God holds every person responsible for his sins. Adam and Eve were responsible, they were supposed to resist Satan and not sin. That same standard holds true for you and me. That is why God did not accept their justification. He wants us to understand the soul that sins, it shall die.

Satan pays for his penalty, but we have to learn to think our way through things under the law of God, use His law as the point of judgment for what we are going to do and if it is sin, resist it, otherwise we become responsible for our sins. There is no doubt that Satan plays a part in these things, but the real blame goes on the person who sins.

After the hands were laid on the goat, that particular goat was led by a suitable man into a wilderness area and released alive. This is another thing; Satan does not fit this role as well. Is Satan always going to remain alive? There are large numbers of people who feel that he is an eternal being, so are other angels also eternal beings.

There is an answer to that in the Bible. I will tell you right out they are not eternal. They can be put to death. God has the power to do that. There is one part that I am not going to go into. David Grabbe is doing the research on it, he dug it out and we found that it attached exactly to what I was preparing regarding the message that I am giving to you today.

God’s law says that the wages of sin is death. Does this declaration only apply to mankind, but do angels get a pass on death when they sin? We know very well that a ton of them, it seems, sinned, yet they are still alive. Do we have a mystery here? There is also no record in the Scriptures of an angel dying at any time. Can it be withheld for a while until God is good and ready to do it? It is a possibility.

In the first sermon I gave you four common assumptions made regarding this angels and death subject.

1. All spirit in regard to bodily construction is the same. It is not. Even all flesh is not the same (I Corinthians), neither is all spirits the same. God’s Holy Spirit stands at the pinnacle of all spirit beings.

2. God was guilty of lack of judgment by creating eternal spirit beings who cannot be destroyed. For one who is so intelligent, so powerful as God—we marvel at the things that He has put together in doing this—and yet He made almost an amateur mistake. He created something He could not destroy.

3. Though God’s law forthrightly proclaims the wages of sin is death, it does not apply to angels.

4. The New Heavens and the New Earth will not be of the purity that God promises.

When I had to break off on Atonement because I ran out of time, I was going through the principles regarding God’s judgments. I broke this sermon down into sections, and I will give you the titles of those sections so that you can keep it organized in that way, because it helps your thinking.

God makes very clear forgiveness is available upon repentance. Again, there is no record in the Bible that any angel has ever repented.

In Exodus 12:48-49 God establishes a general principle that all must face regarding the worship of Him. All must face the same basic standards pertaining to their circumstance. This is pretty far reaching actually. I want to give you something that you know very well because we have repeated it several different times during the past month or two. That is, that Romans 1:18-21 says that even the unconverted are without excuse.

Luke 12:47-48 And that servant who knew his master’s will, and did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much is required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.

Basically what this is saying is, God’s justice is absolutely fair. Angels knew these things. God prepared Adam and Eve before He sent them out to face Satan. Angels were well aware of those things.

Two more principles from Ezekiel should make God’s standards of judgment even clearer.

Ezekiel 18:20-23 “The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself. But if a wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed, keeps all My statues, and does what is lawful and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. None of the transgressions which he has committed shall be remembered against him; because of the righteousness which he has done, he shall live. Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?” says the Lord God, “and not that he should turn from his ways and live?”

Forgiveness is available through repentance. That is very clear. Also within those verses the declaration reveals that each person, man or woman, is judged individually. Father is separated from son, son is separated from father. In addition, it clearly states that man is a soul. Angels are souls too, they can sin, they are living creatures. That is all a soul is. They too will be judged individually.

In verses 21-23 the declaration informs us that forgiveness is available through repentance. This entire chapter is devoted to the subject of individual accountability. Young people cannot blame their parents. If you look in the chapter it is a father and son who are the main characters in there. If the father did a bad job he pays for that. The son has the bad job exercised on him and he has to learn that his father did a bad job, but he cannot blame him. Just change himself, and resist.

I think that we should be able to at least get the outline, that God is not random in the standards of judgment that He uses whether regarding conduct and attitudes of angels or men. The standards are clearly stated and each person or angel is held individually responsible according to the level of gifting that they were given, and what they are responsible to return to God in the quality of their service.

Ezekiel 28:12-16 “Son of man, take up a lamentation for the king of Tyre, and say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord God [not describing a human being]: You are the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty, you were in Eden, the garden of God [Adam and Eve were the only ones there]; every precious stone was your covering: the sardius, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes was prepared for you on the day you were created. [human beings are born] You were anointed cherub who covers; I established you; you were on the holy mountain of God; you walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones. You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, till iniquity was found in you. By the abundance of your trading you became filled with violence within, and you sinned; therefore I cast you as a profane thing out of the mountain of God; and I destroyed you, O covering cherub, from the midst of the fiery stones.”

You will see very clearly He is not describing a human being. God is keeping track of what the angels are doing as well. Here is record before us and I think we understand that this is Satan that He is speaking of.

This new section is titled “The Fear of God.” Mankind is well aware of fear, it can motivate positive change in one’s life; it can and does encourage us to avoid dangerous, even fatal consequences. It can also become such a negative force that it can develop into a chronic agitated awareness that dominates one’s attitude and behavior in life. This is definitely not good.

Hebrews 2:14-15 [I want you to see that fear is a part of our life.] Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

Fear can be enslaving; fear can drive people do things that they ought not to have done. But I wanted you to see in that verse that God recognizes that fear is there, and it is a part of every life. So we make note of the domination within mankind. Even animals fear mankind, because of a God-imposed trait following the Flood. So mankind has an innate awareness of God, even demons He tries to squelch in many cases. However, fear is a reality.

What do you think about whether or not demons, angels, might fear? On the surface it appears that they do not fear death, or they would not fear death. But let us go back to James 2. I know you are very familiar with this.

James 2:18-19 But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!

Demons are afraid of God. Is there something hanging over their heads? That is a strong possibility, there is a bit insight here. The demons respect for God’s powers is very real, seemingly, as we shall see, at the forefront of their minds. Possibly because they know, and they know that they know, that they are guilty, and a very painful experience awaits them.

Luke 4:33-35 Now in the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon. And he cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with you, Jesus of Nazareth? Did you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God!” But Jesus rebuked him saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him! And when the demon had thrown him in their midst, it came out of him and did not hurt him.

This experience Jesus had in Capernaum at the beginning of His ministry, puts a sharper edge on this fear, that is, the fear that was mentioned in James 2:19. The demon spirit clearly gave expression of his fear of being destroyed by the divine powers of Jesus of Nazareth. Is he implying that destruction meant the end of the demons existence?

Matthew 8:28-29 When He had come to the other side, to the country of the Gergesenes, there met Him two demon-possessed men, coming out of the tombs, exceedingly fierce, so that no one could pass that way. And suddenly they cried out, saying, “What have we to do with You, Jesus, You Son of God? Have You come here to torment us before the time?”

Here is another experience Jesus had with demons. They are clearly stating that a set time has already been appointed for their destruction, sometime in the future. They are well aware of it. It appears that these demons were attempting to remind Him of this, in an effort to quell their fear by delaying that time’s arrival.

Ezekiel 28:17-19 [It is very clear that Ezekiel was talking here, by inspiration by God, about a demon spirit who is the covering cherub.] “Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor; I cast you to the ground, I laid you before kings, that they might gaze at you. You defiled your sanctuaries by the multitude of your iniquities, by the iniquity of your trading; therefore I brought fire from your midst; it devoured you, and I turned you to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all who saw you. All who knew you among the peoples are astonished at you; you have become a horror, and shall be no more forever.”

That is pretty clear.

These scriptures forecast a major disaster for the anointed cherub. One might voice the opinion that this applies to some human king from the past. However, it is directly stated regarding the covering cherub. How many human kings are addressed as an “anointed cherub who covers?” Also in the midst of fiery stones, who walked within the mountain of God, that is, the nation of God. This angelic being is to be destroyed and the prophesy specifically states it will be a destruction by fire!

The Hebrew term translated destroy as abad is #6 in Strong's Concordance of the Bible. The concordance reports, “It basically represents the disappearance of someone or something. In its strongest sense the word means to die or cease to exist.” We just saw that the cherub is to become ashes on the earth.

Numbers 16:32-33 [the three men rebelled against Moses, Korah, Nathan, and Abihu] And the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up, with their households and all the men with Korah, with all their goods. So they and all those with them went down alive into the pit; the earth closed over them, and they perished from among the assembly. [This is the same word used in relation to the cherub, abad.]

Deuteronomy 4:26 “I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that you will soon utterly perish from the land which you cross over the Jordan to possess; You will not prolong your days in it, but will be utterly destroyed.”

The word perish has under it the word abad. In this case Moses is speaking and he is forecasting their demise as a nation if they do not obey God. You can see that there is in demons a fear of God.

The term “destroy” is also used in the New Testament in relation to an evil demon speaking to Jesus.

Luke 4:33-34 And he cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with you, Jesus of Nazareth? Did you come to destroy us?”

The Greek word appolumi. #622 Strong’s Concordance of the Bible. Defined as, to destroy utterly. In the middle voice though it indicates to perish. This is because in the middle voice it is not used for a person or thing. The idea is not of extinction but ruin, loss of being, but of well being. Here it is used as regarding a being. He is going to be destroyed.

Underlying the English term in another case it is basanazo. It is used in relation to demons in Matthew 8:6 and Luke 8, verses 27-28.

Luke 8:27-28 And when He stepped out on the land, there met Him a certain man from the city who had demons for along time. And he wore no clothes, nor did he live in a house but in the tombs. When he saw Jesus, he cried out, fell down before Him, and with a loud voice said, “What have I to do with you, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You, do not torment me!”

The term indicates torture without death being implied in the context. Thus in neither of these places, using this Greek term, can be used to firmly prove death for angelic beings by means of a scriptural definition.

I purposely put that in there because I wanted you to see that I tried to look at both sides of this to get a good answer. A lot depends upon which word they use. In this case the torment does not indicate death. However, this search is far from ended.

If a man sins and does not repent, he dies ultimately in the Lake of Fire. If an angel sins it appears at this point his only penalty is the torment of being restrained with the knowledge of what he has lost. But he lives on, much like a human prisoner in a jail with no hope of parole. This does not balance the scales of justice biblically because the Bible clearly states that the wages of sin, that is, unrepented sin, is death. There is no record anywhere in the Bible of an angel, a demon, ever repenting. If that is so, they are bearing unrepented sin and they are going to die.

God clearly states that the soul that sins shall die. An angel is a soul too. That is, a living being with a liberty to make choices regarding moral conduct. Biblically the term soul is not restricted to humans. Animals are souls. It indicates a breathing creature and that includes animals, but animals do not make moral choices.

There is much more revealed in God’s Word regarding the completion of the purpose He is working out. His attitude toward sin, its effects, and what He has prophesied regarding the purity of His Kingdom, will be established when the purpose now being out is completed.

This next section is: "The costliest payment for sin." This specific costly payment has a distinctive purpose far beyond merely providing an acceptable sacrifice for sin. Please have this deeply embedded in your mind!

God very frequently names people and things what they are. He named Satan not only as the enemy but most specifically what His enemy does.

Revelation 9:11 And they had as king over them the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, but in Greek he was the name Apollyon.

Both of those terms mean destroyer whether in Greek or Hebrew. There is no destroyer greater than Satan, and one of the things that Satan destroys is life.

John 8:44 “You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.”

Is Satan going to reap what he sows? Satan is the personification of sin. Sin is what he himself continuously does; he deceives, persuades, and inspires others to do. Sin destroys anything that is life giving, beautiful, peaceful, and good. Perhaps most tragically of all it destroys relationships, it destroys a relationship with God and with other humans. Sin destroys trust, and relationships require trust to continue on.

Genesis 1:1shows the chaotic results of the sins of angels. It pictures the earth as lifeless. Genesis 3 reveals the tragic beginning of Adam and Eve’s sins.

Matthew 24:22 [a reminder of what is coming] “And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.”

This warns that mankind is now headed in the same direction unless God intervenes by sending Jesus Christ. Sin is like a roaring forest fire destroying everything in its path. Reconciliation is the only viable solution to preserve the relationship. Reconciliation is supremely important to this issue.

Jesus Christ is the means of reconciliation so that the breach created by mankind sins against God can be healed. Never has such a huge price been paid for such worthless stock as we are. Mankind is filled with sin and has defiled every beautiful thing God has so freely given. None of us can claim innocence, we have all contributed to this defilement resulting in separation from God.

The reconciliation has already begun. It began some 2,000 years ago with the death of Jesus Christ as the perfect—but costly!—sacrifice that the Father accepted for the sins that we have committed. He suffered the wages of our sins’ death. This payment only applies to those who wholeheartedly express their faith in His sacrifice and also repent of their sins. The repentant resolves not to live life as formerly, with sin being a common way of life.

New section: "New creation has begun within the church."

II Corinthians 5:16-21 Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Those who believe Christ, repent, and are baptized, receive God’s Holy Spirit, are placed into the church as part of the process of being formed a new creation in Christ Jesus. We are being created in the character image of our sinless Savior.

This new creation absolutely does not apply to sinning angels. There is not a single reference in the Bible that Jesus Christ paid the penalty for their sins. There is not a single reference in the Bible that even one demon has ever repented. There is not a single reference in the Bible that any demon believes in the atoning death of Jesus Christ as the payment for their sins. This strongly implies that there never was a means ever made for their forgiveness other than repentance. Or it can also indicate that their character is so set by hatred and by self-centeredness that repentance is now impossible. They hate God and His children with a savage vengeance and would kill us in a blink of an eye, except for God’s hedge of protection around us.

Of key interest in this II Corinthians context that I just read through is the term “new” in verse 17. Paul had his choice of either of two words, and he specifically chose the one best suited to God’s purpose here. The two terms are kainos or neos. He chose kainos, which indicates newness in the sense of fresh existence. Neos indicates newness in the sense of renovation, as in repairing something already existing. In this context God is showing transformation in the inner man from the carnal self-centered, to spiritual thinking and conduct.

The new creation is not merely a repair job of an old already existing carnal nature. It is a transformation, a complete change to a nature that has not been there before conversion. This is important to the rest of this sermon. It is something absolutely new!

The apostle is drawing our thoughts to a parallel of when Adam was created by God in Genesis 1. He was a creation; he was a new creation that did not exist before God acted. We are going to be every bit as new in the Kingdom of God as Adam was when God breathed the breath of life in him. In this case, it is not God exercising His divine powers by creating an entirely new person, but a new heart, a new nature, that will produce righteousness in contrast to the old nature that produced sin.

Now one by one God is calling people out of Satan’s worldly system and creating a Family Kingdom that He describes in multiple locations through out His Word. We have borne the image and character of the sinner Adam.

I Corinthians 15:49 And as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man.

We are being created in the image of the righteous and spiritual Jesus Christ. Know this: the new creation does not end with the spiritual creation of the sons of God. It continues on to include even a New Heaven and New Earth. They will be just as new as I described earlier about our heart.

New section: "No end to the process that has begun."

What we have just read concerning the new creation begun by God within repentant and converted human beings, is part of the beginning of a massive creation that will surely follow because God has willed it as a part of His plan.

Isaiah 42:9 “Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I declare; before they spring forth I will tell you of them.”

We are getting a little bit of that and He is telling us this before they come to pass.

Isaiah 65:17 “For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former shall not be remembered or come to mind.”

It is very interesting that when God inspired Isaiah to write this down, he chose a term in Hebrew that means exactly the same as kainos in Greek: something absolutely new.

Let us go to Isaiah 9, verse 7. The reason I chose this verse is because it clinches the never-ending expansion of God’s purpose. God’s purpose is going to go on and on and on.

Isaiah 9:7 Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

Isaiah 66:22 [adds even more exciting news] “For as the new heavens and the new earth which I will make shall remain before Me,” says the Lord, “so shall your descendants and your name remain. And it shall come to pass that from one New Moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another, all flesh shall come to worship before Me,” says, the Lord.

The way things are today that is not happening, but there is coming a time when everyone will be keeping the Sabbath. Since all flesh is coming before Him each and every Sabbath, it gives an indication that there is no wickedness being committed anywhere at anytime on earth! No sin.

Now, you think that is not possible?

Daniel 9:23-24 “At the beginning of your supplications the command went out, and I have come to tell you, for you are greatly beloved; therefore consider the matter, and understand the vision. Seventy weeks are determined for your people and for your holy city [now look at the next line], to finish the transgression, to make an end of sins, . . .

That is a bellringer! Jesus Christ came to put an end to sin! His job is not done yet, but there is coming a time when nobody will be sinning. Do you think that Satan can hang around such a place, where there are no victims?

Daniel 9:24 . . . to make reconciliation for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness [how about that], to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy.”

Jesus Christ came to put an end to sin. Not to just die for us, but to make us new so that we do not sin. The time is coming when no unrighteousness in any form, including angelic sins, exist.

Isaiah 65:17 provides us with a clear view of the awesome circumstance lying ahead. God says of Himself,

Isaiah 43:25 “I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; and I will not remember your sins.”

A world is coming in which not even the memory of sins or of sinners exist. Is He is going to wipe this creation clean or what? How can that be? Well, it has to have a beginning and it begins when God purges sins and sinners from existence. The time is coming when sin never even comes into the mind of those who are living, and there is nothing happening to remind them of it.

Let us look at some scriptures we are all familiar with.

II Peter 3:9-10 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. But the Day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will burn with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.

There are things that I want us to think about here.

God has already begun the purging. The evidence is in Christ’s death and resurrection, and the existence of converted people, and the church. Consider these things for what He is accomplishing to continue on to completion.

First of all it is needful for all to come to repentance, and that includes sinning angels too. Second, the sinful works done on earth are to be burned up, and that includes the works of sinning angels as well. They are not excused as God purges the earth of the contamination from sins, including their sins.

Revelation 20:11-14 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

Do you think that Satan has his name in the Book of Life? He was cast into the Lake of Fire.

Revelation 21:1 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.

Revelation 20:10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are [or were cast]. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

Every once in a while, God uses a bit of hyperbole. He will say something like, “the two wings of the great eagle,” and we have to interpret its understanding. In Revelation 14:11 it uses the phrase, “smoke of their torment.” This is another biblical hyperbole. It is describing a physical impossibility. Torment ends as soon as death occurs. These are not immortal beings that He is doing this to, these are human beings, and if they are human beings and they are thrown into the Lake of Fire, the torment ends in a blink of an eye. And smoke will not be produced after something is completely consumed. It is done and over with. On top of this, I think we have to see that this does not fit God’s character. He is a merciful God; He does not inflict pain forever. He is not a torturer. And He is merciful even in the death of those individuals.

Satan and his demons are to be burned up. That is a confirmation of what Ezekiel 18 said. Satan and his demons are to be burned up in the Lake of Fire and receive everlasting death. Death is what they have earned for their sins, according to God’s law. The effects are forever and ever.

Forever, in some cases, and we have to be careful there too. The sacrifices were instituted and were to last forever, but we find later on forever lasted only until Christ died for our sins.

Ezekiel 44 reveals that they will be revived in the future for a brief period of time. But when the Lake of Fire occurs, following their revival, they will absolutely no longer be needed for a relationship with God.

There is a little bit more here but I am going to jump to the conclusion:

1. The Bible clearly shows that all characteristics regarding the term spirit are not identical. To assume that just because an angel is composed of spirit, and is thus immortal, is a false assumption. Only God’s Holy Spirit stands above and apart from all others. In each case the term spirit is used it must be defined accurately in order to be understood correctly.

2. There is no lack of wisdom on God’s part prior to creating the angels of spirit. They continue living at God’s discretion, and for His purposes, and He can destroy them by means of fire, as the prophecies clearly show. No unrighteousness will dwell in the New Heavens and New Earth following the Lake of Fire. Therefore, the unrepentant demons will not live beyond the Lake of Fire.

3. God does not change. The wages of sin is death for angels just as surely as it is for man. Regarding judgment the biblical standard is, the greater the gifts, the sterner the judgment. It may be that because they were gifted more greatly than mankind, even being able to see Him, and actually walk in His presence, that the standards of judgment are more stringently carried out.

4. The prophesies of the level of righteousness described for the New Heavens and New Earth, allows no room for any sin, even in one’s memory. God clearly prophesies of righteousness so pure, even the leftover garbage of living beings, including defiled angels, will be burned in the Lake of Fire. We will truly be in His image at that time, nothing will mar this pure, moral, and spiritual environment in the New Heavens and the New Earth.

God hates sin because it destroys the loving beauty of His creation. There will be nothing, absolutely nothing that will destroy loving relationships in the New Heavens and New Earth. Satan and his fellow demons will not live through the Lake of Fire.
