Description: (hide)
Herbert W Armstrong examines the difference and the connection of the Old Covenant (containing physical promises and blessings) and the New Covenant (containing spiritual promises and blessings). The conditions and terms of both covenants (depicted as solemn marriage covenants) are the same: keeping God's Commandments and yielding to His rule. Physical Israel played the harlot (committing spiritual adultery-fornicating with the political and religious systems of the world) and was given a bill of divorce from God. The recipients of the New Covenant-Spiritual Israel- the Israel of God, God's called out saints, justified with the blood of Christ, have been given God's Holy Spirit to enable them to keep these Commandments, building godly righteous character, preparing to be born into God's family at the time of their Resurrection. Collectively, as the Bride of Christ, the church's marriage to Christ will usher in the future Kingdom of God. The book The United States and Britain in Prophecy was offered on this program.
