telecast: Christ's Mission and Message

John 14:15-18, Ephesians 2:12
Herbert W. Armstrong (1892-1986)
Given 16-Jul-79; Sermon #RAD8078; 28 minutes

Description: (hide)

Herbert Armstrong reiterates that most professing 'Christians' practice exactly the opposite from the way that Jesus taught. Far from teaching that the law had been done away, Jesus insisted that His disciples keep His Commandments, promising them (while they were still carnal and unconverted) the enabling power of His Holy Spirit. It is only through the begettal of God's Holy Spirit that we can become spiritual members of the commonwealth of Israel, Abraham's children, and co-heirs of the promise of God's Kingdom and members of His Family. The popular customs practiced by professing Christianity—including such things as venerating the cross, Easter worship, and other pagan practices—are abominable and offensive to God. The booklets The Resurrection Was Not on Sunday and What Do You Mean Kingdom of God? were offered on this program.
