telecast: John 8:1-16
Double Standards and Hypocrisy
Herbert W. Armstrong (1892-1986)
Given 26-Jul-79; Sermon #RAD8086; 28 minutes
Description: (hide)
Focusing upon the incident of the woman caught in adultery and the deceitful hypocritical attempt on the part of the Pharisees to entrap Jesus in a legal inconsistency, Herbert W. Armstrong speculates that Jesus, in all probability, wrote upon the ground the sins of those who had accused the woman (evidently equally egregious as those of the woman), indicating a hypocritical double standard. Like these deceitful Pharisees, most of modern professing 'Christianity,' while appropriating the name of its Founder, has utterly rejected His message, substituting pagan traditions and customs of men. The booklet What is the True Gospel? was offered on this program.
