telecast: Easter
Matthew 12:38-40; Ezekiel 8:16-18
Herbert W. Armstrong (1892-1986)
Given 01-Jan-79; Sermon #HA400A; 28 minutes
Description: (hide)
Herbert W. Armstrong reiterates that the sign of Jonah in Matthew 12:40 precludes any Good Friday crucifixion and Easter Sunday resurrection. Jesus was actually slain on a Wednesday afternoon on the 14th day of the sacred calendar on the Passover day, fulfilling His commission as the Lamb of God. The counterfeit Easter sunrise service is depicted in Ezekiel 8:16-18, an event that arouses the anger and fury of God. The majority of today's churches reject the true Gospel and God's commandments, replacing them with the traditions of men. The booklets The Resurrection Was Not On Sunday and The Plain Truth About Easter were offered on this program.
