Richard T. Ritenbaugh
Given 04-Jan-03; Sermon #591s; 15 minutes

Description: (hide)

Richard Ritenbaugh, after posing the question, "What would you do if you knew Christ would return in a few days?" warns against idleness or the welfare mentality, a condition adopted by the some members of the Thessalonica congregation when they assumed Christ's return was imminent. Both God the Father and Christ provide examples of work, exertion, and industry. To become idle is to deny the faith. We must work out our salvation in fear and trembling.
