The oil-spill in the Gulf of Mexico is like one millionth of an ounce of oil contaminating a whole bathtub. In the wake of this misfortune, both government and corporations are hopelessly goofing up the cleanup. Contradictory permissions and restrictions are given by state and federal agencies. Barack Obama shook down British Petroleum, turning the disbursement of money from BP to pay for workers put out-of-work by the spill over to his crony czar Peter Feinberg. In addition, as the oil slick widened, Obama played six games of golf, attended two rock concerts, and embarked upon political junkets raising money for Harry Reid and Barbara Boxer. Last week the CEO of British Petroleum was grilled by sleazy, hypocritical congressmen who had socialist political axes to grind. In his martial address to the nation, President Obama again bashed British Petroleum as well as preparing the nation for Cap and Tax legislation to save the planet. The federal government delayed one skimming effort by 24 hours in order to confirm that personnel had fire extinguishers and life jackets. Earlier, the Obama administration refused Dutch and British help to clean up the spill because of an antiquated 1920 law (the Jones Act), partial to unscrupulous labor unions. When it comes to presidential leadership, Barack Obama is totally out of his league.
