The apostle Paul instructs God's called out ones that "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind (II Timothy 1:7), a power that can kill (as demonstrated by Elijah and the coming Two Witnesses) and power to intimidate the most powerful evil force (Satan, the prince of the power of the air, a being so formidable that it took two major archangels to subdue him, Daniel 10:12-13). Nevertheless, when we submit to God, employing God's Holy Spirit accordance with God's will, Satan can be intimidated and forced to flee from our presence (James 4:7) just as the demons described in Matthew 8:28-30 were terrified of Jesus Christ, who was prophesied in Genesis 3:15 to crush the Serpent's evil head. Not to use the gift of God's Spirit to resist Satan, cowering in fear and intimidation, makes one candidates for annihilation in the Lake of Fire (Revelation 21:8). God's called-out saints must emulate Job and our Savior in resisting Satan using the power of God's Holy Spirit, and he will flee in fear of Almighty God's overwhelming power and sovereignty.
