Almighty God has placed within every human being the capacity to feel passion, dispersed in myriad ways, including sports, music, entertainment icons, food, etc., all shared with "birds of the feather flocking together," promoting bonding, enthusiasm, and camaraderie. Although we have no choice about our parents, our gender, or our ethnicity, many things we do have a choice, creating a bond with strangers regarding an athletic team, a concert, or a political event. The early church demonstrated such a camaraderie in Acts 2, identifying with a movement much larger than themselves. Since that day the Church has been through many triumphs and disasters, losing the passion when many WCG members stopped obeying God, desiring to identify more with the world, losing the first love which almost deprived the Ephesian church of their candlestick. Loving one another is not an option, but a command. Some sadly have lost their focus on God's calling. We are known by our love for one another and need to see ourselves as members of God's team, in which Our Heavenly Father is the league president, and Jesus Christ is not only the coach, but the most ardent fan. We must arouse ourselves from the current stupor afflicting the greater Church of God, following Jesus' teaching to love one another, realizing that without our obedience to God's Law, no amount of love will help. We must hold fast the confession of our hope, stirring up love and good works.
