For most of God's called-out ones, the interval between the 8th day after the Feast of Tabernacles to the spring holy days feels like a foreboding wilderness in which they witness the nations inhabited by Jacob's offspring being destroyed by reprobate leaders governed by the insane mind of Satan. Additionally, they experience a frontal attack from Satan, the accuser of the brethren, who points out accurately that they have deviated from God's law and deserve nothing more than the lake of fire. Satan salivates over their discouragement, proclaiming that any resistance is futile. As God's chosen saints, we are at perpetual war with Satan, the world, and our own flesh (perhaps the most dangerous enemy). Thankfully, we are assured that Our Savior will never abandon us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5), but we must redouble our efforts to maintain constant contact with Him with prayer, fasting, and ingesting His Word—the Bread of Eternal life, namely the words of God in print, consisting of spirit and eternal life (John 6:63). When we ingest and internalize His Words, we change our thoughts, words, and behavior taking on Christ's mind (I Corinthians 2:16). As we make our annual self-evaluation prior to Passover, we must actively resist Satan's lies and propaganda, remembering that God's gift of His Holy Spirit has given us the means to draw close to Him, Who will protect us from all the satanic demonic forces of evil currently governing and destroying our world.
