Labor Day Weekend is an event which honors the accomplishments of American and Canadian labor movements—the celebration of work. A spiritual parallel can be found in this event and our preparation for the Feast of Tabernacles wherein we scrutinize our budgets, attend to automotive needs or purchase airline tickets, arrange for a neighbor to watch our homes, and ensure all remains well in our absence. The Feast of Tabernacles symbolizes the thousand-year time in which the earth, in a state of total ruin, will be repaired by God's resurrected saints interfacing with a battered remnant of refugees who have witnessed their earth destroyed by the foolishness of war brought about by the rejection of God's laws. The Millennium will be a time of intense work to repair the damaged infrastructure and the depleted and poisoned soil, bringing it back up to Edenic standards, which will take a thousand years of intense preparations, during which time God's saints, interfacing with mortal humans, will prepare the earth to receive billions of additional inhabitants during the Great White Throne Judgment or second resurrection. For all the years since our calling as we prepared for the Feast of Tabernacles, we have been preparing to work and serve in God's Kingdom. God provides critical opportunities for intense growth amidst all the fun and fellowship, preparing us for a greater work to come. Since the Feast of Tabernacles is a means God created to help us become prepared and completed for His Kingdom it is crucial that we arrive ready, willing, and able—not only to have fun, but to work.
