The written Word of God, the Holy Bible, constitutes the revelation of God to man, and is profitable for man's complete spiritual knowledge, understanding and growth to salvation. Holy men of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit through various means, recorded the truth revealed to them. Transmitted to us fundamentally free of error, God's Word is true and pure. The whole canon of Scripture, completed with the book of Revelation, includes the sixty-six books of the combined Old and New Testaments. Its basic purpose is to reveal God, His purpose and the process of salvation to man. The Bible, however, is not philosophy to be freely interpreted, but by gathering all pertinent scriptures, using sound reason and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, one can understand God's intent and meaning.
