There is no recorded instance where Jesus laughed, yet Satan laughs at sin, tempting us to laugh at sin also. The Beatitudes show the attributes of a godly person, one who will see the Kingdom of God. The word "blessed" is better translated "approved." Hunger and thirst refer to the suffering that the true saints of God must endure before they will inherit their reward.
