Hope is vitally importance to our salvation. It strengthens the other major virtues, faith and love, providing the necessary motivation to pursue our spiritual goals. Caleb's attitude of hope counseled the Israelites to move into Canaan, believing that the Lord would be with them, but the ten evil spies had no hope that God would help them. Like Caleb and Joshua, our hope must be in a Living Being. Christ has promised us that He would never leave us, but would always seek ways to assist us. The value of what we hope in is awesome, enhancing our expectation of our calling to an incorruptible inheritance. We are very special people to God—the elect, predestined by God. He knew who He wanted. We are not faceless blobs to Him, but instead we are His jewels, in the same league as David, Jeremiah, and Jacob. God knows the end from the beginning. We have been specifically designed for God's specific purpose, to become the Bride of Christ. With God in our corner, there is almost no way we can lose. We are called a new spiritual birth for the purpose of glory.
