  • John 5:17
    But Jesus answered them, "My Father has been working until now, and I have been working."

  • Proverbs 24:30-34
    I went by the field of the lazy man,
    And by the vineyard of the man devoid of understanding;
    And there it was, all overgrown with thorns;
    Its surface was covered with nettles;
    Its stone wall was broken down.
    When I saw it, I considered it well;
    I looked on it and received instruction:
    A little sleep, a little slumber,
    A little folding of the hands to rest;
    So shall your poverty come like a prowler,
    And your need like an armed man.

  • Ecclesiastes 4:4-9
    Again, I saw that for all toil and every skillful work a man is envied by his neighbor. This also is vanity and grasping for the wind.
    The fool folds his hands
    And consumes his own flesh.
    Better a handful with quietness
    Than both hands full, together with toil and grasping for the wind. Then I returned, and I saw vanity under the sun:
    There is one alone, without companion:
    He has neither son nor brother.
    Yet there is no end to all his labors,
    Nor is his eye satisfied with riches.
    But he never asks,
    “ For whom do I toil and deprive myself of good?”
    This also is vanity and a grave misfortune. Two are better than one,
    Because they have a good reward for their labor.

    So the advice was good in the eyes of Pharaoh and in the eyes of all his servants. And Pharaoh said to his servants, “Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom is the Spirit of God?” Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Inasmuch as God has shown you all this, there is no one as discerning and wise as you. You shall be over my house, and all my people shall be ruled according to your word; only in regard to the throne will I be greater than you.” And Pharaoh said to Joseph, “See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt.”
