sermon: We Have an Advocate With the Father

Christ The Intercessor And Propitiation
Martin G. Collins
Given 26-Mar-11; Sermon #1038; 62 minutes

Description: (hide)

Martin Collins avers that relationship with Almighty God, through the means of God’s Holy Spirit, leads to mightily transformed lives, enabling us to walk in the light. When we slip because of sin, we have an advocate with Jesus Christ, who has been commissioned to forgive our sins upon repentance. There is no forgiveness apart from Jesus Christ, whose blood totally covers our guilt. Christ is our Intercessor, Mediator, Advocate, and High Priest in order to reconcile us with God the Father, a status which the Levitical priesthood could never attain. Jesus Christ interceded in His prayers while He lived in human form and continues to pray for us, aiding our prayers, through the medium of His Spirit, the very mind of Jesus Christ. Having lived as a human being, He can empathize with our infirmities and weaknesses. We must never take Christ’s advocacy lightly, but strive to fellowship with God. Christ has become the propitiation for our sins and the sins of the whole world.
