Feast of Tabernacles 2024 Information

Dear Brethren,

We are excited to announce that the time has arrived for us to make our reservations for the 2024 Feast of Tabernacles!

We are thankful that God has, once again, provided for us to keep the Feast of Tabernacles in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. As in previous years, we will be staying at the Doubletree Resort by Hilton.

Over the past year, the resort has undergone major renovations which has transformed the property into two separate brands within the same resort. The only significant change is the Live Oaks building is now considered a boutique hotel called the Ellie Beach Resort, by Hilton. The Palmetto building will remain known as the Doubletree Resort. Thankfully, this should not negatively affect our keeping of the Feast, as the property will remain one resort with shared amenities for both buildings/brands.

The dates for this year’s Feast are Thursday, October 17, through Thursday, October 24, 2024, and as is our tradition, the first service will take place following sunset at the beginning of the Feast, at 7:30 PM on Wednesday evening, October 16.

The resort is located on 27 acres at the south end of Ocean Boulevard. The oceanfront property is steps from the beach and less than 10 minutes from Myrtle Beach International Airport. It sits right on the beach with direct access to the Springmaid Pier—a good spot for fishing and relaxing. You will only have to go five minutes for the shopping and restaurants of Market Common and six miles for entertainment at Broadway at the Beach.

Making Reservations - PLEASE NOTE the following changes:

As mentioned above, the Doubletree Resort has recently undergone renovations which has turned the resort into two separate brands under Hilton. Hotel management is allowing us to continue to book in both buildings at the same rate. However, there are a limited number of rooms available for us in the Ellie Beach Resort (previously Live Oaks building).

Due to the convenient location of these rooms to our meeting room, we will be allocating these rooms with priority going to those needing direct access to our meeting room.

Use the following link to reserve your room(s) online: 2024 FOT Hotel Reservations

PLEASE NOTE: If booking online you will need to confirm the dates you will be arriving and departing. The hotel automatically puts in all dates our group rate applies for (October 15 - October 25) so if you will be arriving or departing on different dates, please edit accordingly.

If you would prefer to make your reservation(s) by telephone, please call the hotel reservation desk at: 855-778-1190

State that you are with Church of the Great God - Feast of Tabernacles and your group’s rate code is: “91U.” Be sure to confirm the below per night rate with the reservationist.

The DoubleTree and Ellie Resort room rates are $155.00. To that rate add a $10.00 resort fee and taxes (12% = $20.40), and $1.00 destination fee, bringing the approximate total cost to $186.00 per night. The room types available are one king bed, two queen beds, connecting, and accessible rooms. No breakfast is included.

If you require an accessible room and/or a room with a roll-in shower, please let Samantha Swanson know as soon as possible so she can allocate one of these rooms in the Ellie Resort for you. Her email is sswanson@cgg.org or you can call her Tuesday - Thursday between 9am and 4pm at 803-802-7075.

The required $10.00 resort fee (see above) covers these resort amenities:

  • Unlimited basic internet access in guest room and lobby
  • Unlimited local, domestic long-distance and 800 access
  • In-room bottled water
  • Complimentary parking
  • Complimentary use of the miniature golf course and volleyball court
  • Complimentary use of the pools and lazy rivers
  • Complimentary use of the weight room

Please make your reservation(s) as soon as possible to aid us in festival planning. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your reservation(s), please contact Samantha Swanson.

Deadlines and Cancellations

All room requests must be booked by the cut-off date of August 31, 2024. At that time, the resort will release to the public any remaining rooms in our reserved block. You may cancel your reservation at least 72 hours (3 days) prior to your arrival date without penalty.

Sharing a Room or Ride

If you would like to share a room or ride to and from the Feast site but are unable to arrange it on your own, or you have extra space in your room or vehicle that you would like to share, please let Joe Baity know at jbaity@cgg.org or 803-802-7075.

Tithe of the Tithe

Along with the planning for the Feast of Tabernacles comes our opportunity to assist with festival expenses by sending in a tithe of your second tithe. This longtime church practice ensures that all the brethren can attend and enjoy the Feast. The church uses most of this fund to assist those who do not have enough second tithe of their own. Any remainder helps to defray our considerable church festival expenses. Please clearly label your donation as “Tithe of the Tithe” so we may credit it to the proper account. The earlier we receive your donation, the sooner it will be available to be used for special festival needs.

Festival Assistance

Sometimes pride prevents us from asking for help, or perhaps we do not want to be a burden to others, but if you genuinely need financial assistance to attend the Feast, the church and its members want to help. If you have faithfully saved your second tithe and are still coming up short, make your need known to God in prayer and to your brethren, and God will provide what you need.

If it becomes evident that you will require festival assistance from the church, please make a proposed Feast budget and submit it to Martin Collins (mcollins@cgg.org or CGG, PO Box 471846, Charlotte, NC 28247-1846) as soon as possible. The church will then do its best to provide what you need in a timely fashion.

In previous years, many brethren who had little money for the Feast have experienced an outpouring of love and generosity from their brethren who had more. We should all want to help others enjoy the Feast as much as possible, so being generous with the festival tithe helps us exhibit the loving family relationship that characterizes God’s people.

We are looking forward to being together this year in Myrtle Beach, so work hard to be healthy and prepared, and God willing, we will see you in a few months!

Kind regards,

Martin G. Collins
