The Second Resurrection
Sermonette; #FT01-14s; 23 minutes
Mike Ford, reflecting upon the second resurrection, in which billions of people who have never known God's plan, will be given their first chance. We need to be diligent to make sure we'll be there to see them, to help resurrect, teach, and counsel our loved ones, showing them how to use God's Spirit to grow. In order to ensure our longevity in the faith, we ought to(using the imagery of Hosea 14:5-7) be productive like the lily, we ought to emulate the cedar tree, whose roots extend deeply into the ground, the olive tree, continually bearing fruit, the spice gardens of Lebanon, whose fragrance resemble prayers, the abundant branches of an orchard, resembling the protective branches of the church. We need to remain within these protective branches, clinging to the protective vine of Christ in order to be there at the Last Great Day.
