We are pleased to announce that it is time for us to make our fall festival reservations. We will be keeping the 2016 Feast of Tabernacles in Nashville, Tennessee. Nashville has been dubbed “Music City” for its substantial music history and activity—and not just for country music, since its studios now produce music from many different genres. Historical and nature sites are also plentiful for those who enjoy history and the outdoors.
The dates for this year’s Feast are Sunday evening, October 16 through Monday, October 24, 2016. Everyone will be staying and all services will be held at:
Embassy Suites Hotel - Airport
10 Century Boulevard
Nashville, Tennessee 37214
The hotel is conveniently located just minutes from Nashville International Airport (BNA). This all-suite property has 296 suites. All of the spacious two-room suites include a private bedroom with one king-size or two double beds and a separate living room with sofa-bed, armchair, and well-lit dining/work table.
Other in suite amenities include wet bar, refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, iron with board, hair dryer, two telephones with voicemail, complimentary high speed Internet access, and two televisions. The suites overlook the garden atrium and restaurant and can be reached by four elevators. The hotel has a pool, a well-equipped fitness center, and free, ample onsite parking.
Suites include a complimentary buffet breakfast (w/ a cooked-to-order omelet) served each morning. (Note that this free breakfast offer will not apply to anyone who is staying at another hotel.)
Handicap accessible suites are available with king-size beds only and may be reserved online or by calling the hotel. Complimentary cribs may be requested during booking online or by calling the hotel.
All suites are available at $117.00 per night plus State, City and Visitor taxes. The total charge (all taxes included) is approximately $140.37 per night.
Reservations may be made anytime either by telephone or online. The Embassy Suites Special Events page will guide you through booking your room(s) directly from the website. The page has been customized for exclusive use by CGG members, and includes maps, agendas, menus, and entertainment information. Simply fill in your information and follow the prompts.
Note: When using the online reservation system, if you try to book your suite with an arrival date before October 14th it will tell you there are no suites available. Just book from October 14th, then email Martin Collins or call the CGG office (803.802.7075) so he can reserve an earlier arrival date for you at the $117.00 per night price.
If making your reservation by phone, please state that you are with Church of the Great God. Be sure to give them the dates that you plan to arrive and depart, also confirm the $117.00/night rate (Rate Code: CHU) with the reservationist.

Meals at Embassy Suites
In addition to its free buffet breakfast, the hotel restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner at the prices stated on the menu.
Deadlines and Cancellations
All room requests must be book by the cut-off date of September 14, 2016. At that time, any remaining rooms in our reserved block will be released to the public. However, every year we use up more than our allotted room-block, so be sure to book as early as possible.
Since there is a high demand for this hotel during football game weekends, we highly recommend you book soon. If you should need to cancel your reservation, you may do so up to 24 hours prior to your arrival date without penalty.
Sharing a Room
If you need or desire to share a room, please try to find someone to share with on your own. If you are unable to do so, please contact Diane McIver at 803.802.7075, and she will do her best to assist you.
Embassy Suites is located only two miles from the airport and provides a free shuttle to and from the airport. If you need to use this service, simply call the hotel to let them know the time of your flight. Also, this shuttle service is available to all guests free of charge to anywhere within a three-mile radius of the hotel, and there are several restaurants and stores within that distance.
Rental cars can be reserved from any of the major agencies at the BNA Airport.
Riding with Others
Riding with others who have extra space may be the best solution for the single traveler or those not wishing to rent a car. If you cannot make such an arrangement yourself, please call Diane McIver at 803.802.7075. Please give her your name, address, phone number, the number of people in your party. She will do her best to accommodate your needs.
If you have room in your vehicle and would like to help transport someone, please give Diane the same information, along with the number of seats and luggage space available. She will try to provide the best match possible.
International Feast Sites
There will be small festival sites in South Africa, Zambia and Trinidad. At this time, we do not have any firm information on lodging, airfares, car rentals, or the like, but if you are considering attending, please contact the church office. When arrangements have been made, the information will be forwarded to you.
Tithe of the Tithe
Along with the planning for the Feast of Tabernacles comes our opportunity to assist with festival expenses by sending in a tithe of your second tithe.
This practice is necessary to ensure that all the brethren can attend and enjoy the Feast. The church uses most of this fund to assist those who do not have enough second tithe of their own to cover their Feast expenses.
Any remainder helps to defray church festival expenses such as meeting room expenses, purchasing flowers, other decorations, arranging for sound equipment, printing bulletins, piano tuning and the purchasing of other festival needs.
You may wish to send in your tithe of the tithe along with your regular first tithe check. If you do so, please be sure to identify which portion is for first tithe and which is for tithe of the tithe. A simpler way may be to write separate checks. The earlier you send this in, the sooner we can allocate the appropriate funds to these special needs. You may also use CGG’s online “Donate” tab at www.cgg.org.
As you complete your plans for the Feast, it may become evident that you will need financial assistance. If you find that you have this need, please make a proposed Feast budget and submit it to John Ritenbaugh (803.802.7075 or email@example.com) as soon as you can assemble your financial information. The church will do its best to make sure that you receive the necessary funds a few weeks before the Feast.
