Sermonette: What's in Your Fruit Stand?

Producing the Fruit of the Spirit
#1051s

Given 11-Jun-11; 19 minutes

description: (hide)

Bill Onisick, reflecting on summer activities, reconditioning soil, preparing a garden on the site of a former used car lot, and visiting many farmers' markets, asks us to consider what kind of metaphorical fruit we are producing. Every action we take is a metaphorical seed we plant; righteous actions produce holy fruit, evil actions produce deadly or poisonous fruit. Thankfully, Christ has forgiven us and given us His Spirit, enabling us to bear spiritual fruit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, and self-control. God chose us to be branches on the vine (Jesus Christ), glorifying Him as we bear spiritual fruit.
