During the months before the Feast of Tabernacles, trials and tests increase in intensity, but this intense stress shouldn't really surprise us. Our forebears and our brethren all face similar tests. God is preparing us to rule in his Kingdom, requiring that we know how to solve problems with patience and resolution. Trials and tests are real-time opportunities for growth. We need to learn to lead our families, deal with other people, and solve thorny problems, letting our lights shine, imitating the example of our Elder Brother's example. We need to learn to live our lives as leaders by following Christ's example.
